15th Letter

Dear Humans,

I labeled this email humans because as a missionary i feel like we're not quite human! so much has happened this week, ive laughed, ive cried, and ive sweated... ;) So last pday we went to target! which is simply amazing! we dont go there much because its so far away but we got permission to go! hallah! we had a lesson at a members home, and we were helping teach a little 12 yr old boy named lapadre! so sweet! but the member who was teaching was going into deeep doctrine with the bible. and i was lost in the lesson, i felt really bad for lapadre. i could answer some of the questions the member asked! i realized even more so how important questions are! not just questions but really good questions that get you thinking and finding answers for your self!  then we found out one of our gators, Keonna is reading BoM! her husband Andrew who just had surgery on his jaw and his mouth is wired shut :( poor thing, they are soo awesome! they live with Miss Rosia! so we want to help them somehow but we couldn't figure it out, then ding! it came to us! smoothies... andrew agreed to learn more and we said we could make a smoothie while we do it! smoothie lessons! BEST EVER!! i love smoothies soo flippen much, its a drug now. i should ween off of them... but i cant! HAHAH sister Garten is all well now and we're going out exploding with awesomeness!! we're still working out the kinks of things but we're teaching better and better!! also we're getting closer! we are so much a like, she didn't like school, she moved around from friends, she and i are the same in personality wise! the only difference is i am more of a touchy person then she is. haha ok so during lessons i'm not sure why but i like to sit really close to my companions! just physical contact helps me feel safer and confident  i think, but sis G didn't know this at first! haha she just thought i wanted more room hahaha but now she gets it. she isn't really touchy but she doesn't mind it with me! ah i love her soo much! i think the reason we're companions is to just realize that i'm not alone, and she isn't alone in this world! there are other people who have the same opinions on things as i do! and so knowing that, we just build onto each other so much more! we had a break through. yes there are moments where i'm confused and don't know what she is talking about but she has a fire in her that is beautiful!!

 This week we got 11 new gators! woot woot, so now we will go through them and see who is solid and who isnt. also there was one day this week where i was just confused! i like had no idea what the spirit was trying to tell me! frustrating, but then we went to dinner with the elders and just watching the elders at dinner is so funny! they are super awkward but they are really good together, they build off of each other and suppport each other. which me and sis G are starting to do :) so it is awesome! (sung in a high voice) alright story time...

We were on our way to an investiagtors house. we pulled over to write in our planners k? now we're in a neighborhood and just pulled over on the side in a small ditch grassy area. and we were parked, just into writing in our planners than BAM! we were hit! some woman backed out of her driveway came across the road and hit us! we jump out and the woman was so angry! at herself and the situation! we were all ok. turns out she was on the phone... >:( but no we have our bumper crushed in... hahah so we called the popo (cops) ;) because that is what we were suppost to do, for we had called our the mission office for help. so anyways! while we were waiting for the cops to show up, the daughter showed up and came out, we all started talking. we gave them both BoMs then taught the first lesson. lol they go to the church of Christ! it was actually a really good lesson! the spirit was there and everything. we asked some really really good questions that got them thinking. we asked questions that would lead them to see that our church had the priesthood authority! it was awesome! they didnt become new gators though:( we were thinking after it was all done though that if we tracted into their house they wouldn't have let us in, they probably would have slammed the door in our beautifully sweaty faces! but since she hit our car she had to listen hahahah it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! alright 2 more stories for this week.

We were driving to go see someone, but they didn't have an appt we were just going to stop by, when a family literally popped into my head. the Bowdens. i said we haven't seen them in a while, lets go see them! i felt really strongly about it.. now i can not ever remember the holy ghost doing this to me. he put the bowdens in my head! we went over, pulled up, said a prayer walked into they're house. and sis bowden was crying! she had found out that she has cancer and didnt have much longer to live, and it was just barely hitting her that it was real. she was sobbing! WOAH! she said that it had just hit her about 30 mins before we had shown up, and that when she saw our car she thought "you've got to be kidding me!"  Heavenly Father knew that she needed us! and the whole time apparently i was saying that everything was going to be alright. all would be well, and not to worry! i dont remember saying that more then 1x but sis G said i said it a lot!  we stayed there until she had calmed down. when we left we were in awe. like that has never happened to me that i could see the results so fast too! but she needed someone at that time when she was in a melt down. and we went there because of the holy ghost! i was just thinking. what if i ignored that thought and just kept going. we still wouldn't have known. she could be doing who knows what! we love her so much. i just sat there holding her on the couch while she sobbed. it was so sad. this is going to be really hard for her. but for some reason i know that everything will be ok!

Last story. Freddrick. came. to. church!! he looked so nice!! he had his dreads pulled back and he had a nice shirt and jeans on :) he is going through such a hard time its so sad, i want to hug him so much! he wasnt going to come to church but we told him that church will help his week and that it will bless him. he had gone to bed at 6:30 but came to church at 11. he looked like he was on the verge of crying the whole time!! i just wanted to hold him and let him know how much his heavnely father loves him and proud of him and wants him to keep trying! so i folded my arms instead. hahaha this is his 3x coming to church! so now once he figures some stuff out, he can get baptized! well that is all for this week :) Keep reading the BoM President Jensen had given us a challenge a while back to read the BoM in 3 days. he said he'd give us permission to stay inside and just read for 3 days! so im extending this commitment to you! even if you've already started it! take a day and just read! and than dont stop even if its confusing! the fact that your trying to read will bless you so much!!

Letter 14

Dear people who are not trainers,

 

This is hard work! my new daughter's name is sister garten. she is 21 and has a passion for missionary work. she is #6 of 7, is the first to serve a mission. her dad died when she was 4 and most of her siblings are less active. she is from all over! her family lives in colorado but she lived in california before she came here! she and i are a lot alike! she hated high school too!! and she hung around the same sort of people i did! and she is super positive and funny! she has been super sick this past weekend. so we haven't gone out. like at all! i think i cleaned the house a dozen times!! yet we still find baby spiders and cockroaches and dead lady bugs! EW! (today we found a HUGE cockroach! nasty) sis g looks identicle to black widow off of avengers. like it feaks me out a little bit. we like the same foods, she is 5'10 and wears a shoe size of 9. she has longish dirty blonde hair and is beautiful! i feel super ugly sometimes... but than i think who cares im going to smell worse than i look later anyway! hahahaha happy days happy days! but this letter wont be real long because we didn't do anything. seriously! i studied all day. may or may not have fallen asleep during some of the studying... but i shall confirm nor deny. dont tell anyone!!!!!!!! im trying to be exact obedient! its hard though. there are a lot of rules! our neighbors. ya know the twins haha they had this little kitty like 2 weeks old! i held  it for like 10 mins!!! i wish i could steal it and take it home!!! ahhhh sooo cute john said his name is tough ahahaha oh! did i tell you! we got both there names? John and Thomas.... Vandenberghe? no hashahaahahha but thats what i thought of! crazy right? they work in foster care and not dental! umm dinners have been good! i love going to members homes to eat! DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and this week is going to set the standard for the rest of the transfer! its weird this is my 3 transfer out of 13 transfers.............. anyway!!! im like starving my brains out! yes that might be a legit thing! oh did yall know that im driving?? Since im training im senior companion!!!!!!!!! whaaaatttttt/////////??????  hahahah this. is. going. to. be. awesome!!!!! well next letter will be more eventful and full!!!!!!!!!!!!! its getting hotter over here! and the bugs are growing with it! eeek!

Letter 13

 This is Sister Milne and Sister Hirst!

Hey people of the human world

This past week has honestly been insane!!! well I face timed my family yesterday! hurray! best. day. ever!! im so happy everyone is doing awesome! even my brother who fell asleep on the floor...  ok so this past week has had lots of ups and downs!!  sister hirst saw a naked man! eewww so that was scaring! here are some of the most amazing quotes! "I used to sit in and smoke weed all day, everyday. now ive slowed down and go out n stuff." -Michael W. he than agreed to quit smoking! he also said "Ive always wondered why and how you guys were always so happy! now i know!!" ahh! he says some of the most amazing beautiful inspiring things! a few days later we had an appt with him and he wouldn't even come to the door! some lady answered saying that he doesnt want to talk today, he doesnt want to anymore. and that he is uncomfortable talking to us! WHAT? so our logic is that he was high and didnt know what he was saying.. basically we got dumped :( so our plan is to go back and teach our other gators and than he will have a stronger desire to take the lessons again... all we need is time... sometimes time is stupid. but than i love it! hahaha  So another story is that one day we were teaching this part member family, and we were feeling the spirit, the part of baptism was about to be brought up when there was a knock on the door. It was the elders!!!! they didn't know we were there! crazy!! they walked in and saw us on the couch and were like What?? walked out with their hands in the air, we were laughing, they were giggling. they came in for a sec, said sorry and awkwardly backed out hahahaha what are the odds of that happening? haha some woman told us how we scare people away, and how people who don't know who we are, are just scared of us! we were like why? we don't look scary! i though we were pretty cute and nice but nope hahaha anyway!!  oh we were teaching a lesson outside and sitting, and some guy who we call alien man because he walks like the aliens off of "signs"... anyway he was riding his bike through the complex ( we see him EVERYWHERE...) and he turned and he rode past. he did a double take, said "hey ladies" then nearly ran into a car hahahahahah we were all laughing so hard!! it may or may not have postponed the spirit for a minute... but don't worry! we got right back into it and he said he'd stop smoking! sweetness right??  lol here is another quote "a real man knows how to cry." Freddrick W. all the quotes are from zoramites(gangsters) and apostate zoramites! and yes they have dreads! i love dreads and corn rows! its crazy how much i love it!! next time you see me i will have dreads! bahahhaha so there is this park by our house where we go run. and one day we had old bread so were like lets go feed the turtles! so we did! i swear like 20 turtles were there! it was awesome! they were swimmin around fighting over bread! so cute! i will waste bread feeding turtles. yes they are so cute!! alright i cant hold it in any longer. im training! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO im not ready! im so scared! is president crazy!!!!?!?!?! im going to ruin a missionary :( i may or may not be freaking out right now!! blllaaahhhh!!!!!!!!! but you know what? i don't have to move, sis hirst will be in my district :) and elder rhoads will still be here! he is also in our ward! this will be interesting! blaahhhhh!!!!!!!!! ga im so nervous!! im super awkward and newish! this. will. be. interesting... but im driving! yeay!!! not that i don't like sis hirst driving. but i like driving. so look out world! imma driving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! woohoo!! hahahaha well until next week. ill let ya know how im surviving! ill just buy ice cream and eat it all the time! im done running every morning! haha jk ill keep it up until i like it... well! take care of missionaries! give them referrals and give out book of mormons! it helps soooo much!! 12th Letter!!

ok hello friends.. and fellow strangers,

 

So last monday me and my good companion sis hirst went to wakulla springs! ahh! we saw a HUGE aligator! and lots of little babies! never do i want to swim in a river... hahaha So on wednesday we had a girl who leaves for her mission to scotsdale az at the end of july i believe, and she came with us to all our lessons for the day! it was my first time having someone not a missionary there teach with us!  it was a good day! the first lesson we had with her was with a guy named mathew who has been taught before, and he knows his bible.... so it was a little scary! fetch i was nervous! i think i prayed the whole time! but we taught a good lesson and he invited us back. saweet! than we saw this guy named Raniky! he lives with who we think is a drug dealer, everytime we see him he's high and on something. but raniky is a cna and is going to go back to school in august to get his lpn! he is this huge black guy!! really tall and broad! but the sweetest thing in the world, a big teddy bear as our gator who lives across the street michael says. we taught him the restoration, Iliana bore her testimony! she is going to be a really cool missionary! and than he told us that he has been searching for truth, and he says that he will listen to anybody who talks about God. because what if he didn't listen to us that first day we saw him and he just walked away but we had truth, he would have missed out on it! so his view on us and teaching is beautiful!! he is a soul searching man! OH the greatest moment was when we asked him if he would pray to know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet called of God, he said he didn't need to! he knows its true! waaaattt???? GOLDEN!! than we asked him to be baptized! he wants to be baptized!! so over all in that little complex, there is one member, 3 who want to be baptized, and 6 wanting to learn more!! woot woot!! raniky is amazing!! i told him that he is a giant nurse! he laughed and agreed hahaha we love him!! than we saw michael! love him!! he gives us some spiritual juice to get us back on our spiritual high, awesoemness! he still wants to be baptized he is sharing the gospel with his friends and asked if he could have more BoMs to give his friends... um yeah!! he ran inside to grab his bible and showed us that he was doing cross referencing! and he said how its so cool! woooo love him!! than sis hirst got sick, so when our great day with Iliana was over sis hirst crashed. she has a head cold! :P But i havent gotten sick! woop wooppp.so thursday was a slow day but we did discover something cool. 1. if you can fart in front of someone, your true friends. and 2. when sis hirst isn't sick she is a very cautious driver but when she is sick she is a normal human driver. ahaha but now she is a missionary driver again!! it was so funny! we stayed inside most of the day that is why we know this lol.  3. NEVER MAKE A SMOOTHIE WITH GARLIC AND GRAPEFRUIT! she put too much garlic in it and she almost puked it back up! nasty!! 4. you need A LOT of Book of Mormons to build a house. 5. thermometers that you put on your temple are bogus and 6. When me and sis hirst are companions we share a sickness, i apparently had a high fever, but she had all the symptoms hahaha here is a great quote from our ward mission leader, "sometimes i feel like i should be better at fellowshipping, but then i think that im really awkward, and id probably just push them away."-brother davis.  on saturday sis hirst was feeling a wee bit better so we went to visit a few people but not many because me (sis Milne) was her doctor, and i (and sis jensen) said to take it easy :)  we saw michael again, and here is an amazingly beautiful quote that he said " I used to be miserable and depressed but now everytime i read the BoM and bible, things just get better and lighter and easier!! and it just keeps getting better!!"-Michael Williams. Me and sis hirst almost died when he said that! the elders teaching him who haven't met him yet better do it fast because he is amazing! he has the sweetest smile when he talks about the gospel, and when we're teaching you can tell that he is living off of every word you say. its like light bulb, light bulb, light bulb over and over again!! BEAUTIFUL!! so during our discussion, i saw in the corner of my eye a dark object fall out of a tree, and it fell onto the hood of a truck! it sounded like a bomb!! BOOM!! than it slid off on to the ground.... it was a squirll hahahhahahahahhahahahhahahhahaha it was stunned for a few seconds then wobbly, hopped away. we busted up so hard!! oh my i couldn't help but laugh out loud!! michael asked if it was ok and i just laughed at it... hahahhahahaha we read some of the Book of Mormon with him but every time i had to read i kept replaying the squirl falling out of the tree over and over again, and i would keep reading but holding back laughter.. apparently they could notice and they started laughing too! so it was a good day! oh one more awesome thing that happened! we were pulling up to a red light turning left. and there was a car with its harzzards on. and then the light turned green so cars zoomed around it, than it turned red and thats when we pulled in. there was a girl with a pink mohawk and a guy trying to push there car across the street into a parking lot. NO one was helping so i jumped out and helped push/steer, cars were honking at us and the guy and girl were swearing at them and flipping people off. hahaha i just sat there like "push more"!! faster haha. then she thanked me. they lived close by and i ran back across the street and jumped in the car right as it turned green :) sis hist protected the car from the other cars hahahaha sweet!! oh and that day we did service! we helped build a life size truck out of tomato cans yeah it was pretty sick! da da da dum!! in church they talked about how our priorities determine what we seek in life. like think about what you want to do tomorrow, than next month and than next year! than in your life!! you start to realize that the gospel is the big picture and we need to prioritize it first before all of the worldly things!! oh here is another analogy. you have a jar and you put big rocks in it, than you put little rocks in it and shake it around. they fall into each other and fit than you put sand in it and shake that around, it all falls into place. but if you had put the sand in first than the little rocks than the big rocks, it all would not have fit!! the gospel is our big rocks and they need to be in our lives first! so my commitment for yall is to always think of christ. try to keep a prayer in your heart! always think of christ and heavenly father. your thought process changes when you do so!! LOVE YALL!!
